Monks Who Live and Work at the School

At Thrangu Rinpoche’s direction, three monks live in the school. Karma Lekshey has just been promoted to Plant Manager. He's responsible for the entire school plant...the buildings, wiring, plumbing, construction, vehicles, etc. He also supervises the Support staff. Tashi Gyatso is our new "nyerpa"...the monk who does all the buying. Young Wangchuk Rabten (he's 18) is our senior Health Worker. All three work very hard to realize Thrangu Rinpoche's wishes.

It is difficult for a monk to live outside the monastery. Why? It's difficult to keep vows intact, and it is (I think) a little bit lonely. Since they live outside the monastery, these three monks aren’t provided for in the same way the other monks are. This means they have some expenses. The school provides room and board, but they don’t have money for new shoes,  or transportation, etc. We would like to find a sponsors for them, so they continue help SMD School.

These three serve Thrangu Rinpoche with their entire hearts. Our school would be so much less without them. We would be grateful for any help you care to give.
