MY FRIEND THE COBBLER

A cobbler is a person who repairs our shoes and plastic sandals. As each and every occupation should be respected equally, the work of cobbler should be also respected.

Cobblers are not treated well in the society as their job is low because in a Hindu country like Nepal, they are consider outcaste, but we Buddhists don’t believe in caste. Their position may be down, but they are highly needed in this society. He is the only person who mends our shoes and sandals and he does it with a good heart.

Our school brings the cobbler twice a month for mending shoes and sandals of the kids in our school. When he is in the school, we treat him very nicely and let him feel good. In our school he does his work very nicely with smile on his face. Many kids gather around him and talk with him. After he finished mending our shoes, we thank him and pay him with great respect as well as admiration.

So cobblers are also very important in our life though their profession is low.

We should accept the fine nature of people, and not think about caste.
