Our New Well and Basketball Court

We’ve got a new well (160 m). It’s yielding well, but needs filtering for ammonia and iron. We’re putting in a pilot project for rainwater retrieval, for something like $800. If it proves successful, we’ll go whole hog with a big system and will only use the well water for drinking and cooking.

The new basketball court is being laid with a layer of iron reinforcement bars…big trucks won’t break this baby up!

Some generous donors have provided us with funding for our computer lab…20 new computers with all the bells and whistles, along with desks, networking and a cable connection. And the dusty old concrete floor is being covered with ceramic tiles. The same donors have provided funding for stocking the Libraries at SMD and SMD Branch School for Young Monks.
