Parents’ Day
Parents’ Day is a special day for every parents that is celebrated once in a year. We celebrate it to show our love, respect and caring for them. Parents are very special people for each and every one of us who are very near and dear to them. They give us birth in this beautiful world and bear every obstacle to make us happy. They are always with us in every step we take in our life and show us positive way. As they are very generous to us to repay it we celebrate parents day to make them feel glad.
Like many schools, we members of SMD family also celebrate Parents’ Day. We have been celebrating it since 15 years and will keep on going in the future as well. During this day we organize a small programme and invite our parents at school. This school is established by our very venerable Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche to give modern education to all the Himalayan and poor kids. His main objective is to preserve Himalayan culture and to help Buddha Dharma flourish. Thus keeping this objective in mind, we perform different cultural programmes and try our best to have fun. We also distribute awards like the Thrangu Excellence Award, Best Effort for each class, Best girl, Best boy, School topper, SLC topper to the students in the presence of all the parents. These awards are given to those students for the following reasons:
Thrangu excellence Award –This is the most important and biggest award given to that student who has bodhicitta (altruism) and has the motivation to do some thing beneficial for others. Award for best effort - The student who really works hard, not only in studies but also in each and every field earns this award. Award for best girl and boy -This award is given to the student who is good in his/her study, who takes part in every activity, and is well disciplined. Parents Day brings happiness and joy not only to the parents but also to the children as well. Children get chance to perform different activities for their parents and express their feelings for them. Thus, it’s an important day for all of us. By Maya Gurung B340 |
