Circus show in SMD for the first time by SMD kids (Kid Power)

I am writing on behalf of Himalayan Unicycle Club. We have been able to perform our show with the great generosity and help of Steve Groh of the Youth Circus Foundation and South Asian Children’s Fund. He is a good man. He works in circus training with kids in Bangkok. During his first visit to our school, he showed some circus tricks. We really enjoyed seeing it. But this year he came to our school to share his talents and circus skills with us and to teach us. We learned lots of things like juggling, fire staff, walking on a globe, making pyramid shape (acrobatics), some unicycle tricks, and gymnastics, etc.

There are many types of juggling. They are ting juggling, stick juggling, ball juggling, etc. We also learned glow ball juggling at night. It was a really nice experience. Steve took some of our pictures when we were enjoying World Juggling Day. It was the most unforgettable day for all of us. We sent those beautiful pictures to the juggling website. It was so much fun learning and practicing those exciting circus skills.

We practiced by involving our interests, thoughts and efforts towards circus skills in order to make our circus show at SMD School successful. The day came to show our circus talents and skills, which we had learned from our loving volunteer, Steve. When we were sent on to the stage to present our circus, we were so nervous because there were many people in the school hall to watch our show. Before we started our show Steve gathered all of us and gave us words of confidence and encouragement. He told us if something goes wrong while showing circus don't mind and keep on doing.

When we presented our talents and skills one by one, gradually the word “nervous” vanished from our minds.

The circus show was fabulous. We saw all the audience was laughing and cheering for us. On that day we were happy and we made others happy too. On behalf of the SMD Family we circus students would very much like to give immense of thanks to our loving volunteer Steve for sharing his precious time with us. We are very lucky to be in this wonderful school where we can see and learn different types of knowledge, idea, skills etc from many volunteers. We are very thankful to our root guru Venerable Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche for establishing this wonderful school for Himalayan Children.
