Improving Academic Performance at the School
Vice
Principal (in charge of academic affairs) Simon Lama visiting
a class
The Vice Principal has the mandate to improve teaching standards
and academic
performance. As a result of his efforts, the school calendar
was extended by a month and "make-up"days were
instituted to cover teaching time lost to "bandhs'
strikes.
These adjustments have allowed students (especially Class
10) enough time to finish the syllabus prescribed by the
government.
Under the direction of the school director
and with the support of our Principal, Simon Lama has
begun the implementation of the long-standing policies from
the school management plan. This has gone a long way to
improving academic standards. One result is that all nine
Class 10 students passed the national board exams in 2002
and three of them passed in the 1st Division, with distinction.
